A Dangerous Intolerance

Bathrooms
Gender issues, and bathroom usage are hot topics - and rightly so. A long time ago someone decided that there were exactly two kinds of people in the world, women and men. So bathrooms were labeled for each. As we have evolved, thankfully, we have discovered that it isn't as black and white as originally thought. Gender is more that just men or women, but a continuum. To avoid a dangerous intolerance I believe we could change the idea of bathrooms having anything to do with gender at all. If we took down all the "men" and "women" signs and replaced them with "penis" and "vagina" the problem would be solved. Bathrooms would stop being "decisions" based on one's gender, but pure "fact" based on equipment.

Introduction
I wanted to call this blog "Wake Up Christians" but I was informed that the title was not available. After reading the Nicholas Kristof article in the New York Times entitled "Take My Quiz on Religion" I found my new title - A Dangerous Intolerance. I have been a fan of Mr. Kristof since he wrote "A Path Appears". My purpose in writing this blog is to encourage a wake up call to Christians (myself included) that due to many factors we have become a very intolerant people. And why is that? What has caused us to see ourselves as a special class? I see many expressions of "Christianity" that verge on down-right arrogance. I hope this blog can help us all (people of all faith traditions or none at all) see ways we can live together in peace and harmony.
